How Solar Works
- Solar panels are installed on the roof. They are made up of photovoltaic (PV) cells, which convert sunlight into direct current (DC) power.
- DC power from the solar panels is sent to an inverter, which performs the conversion to alternating current (AC) power, the standard electrical current used in your home.
- AC power travels from the inverter to the electrical panel and is ready to use.
- Energy you don’t use goes back to the utility grid and creates an electricity “credit” for you
